Trans-femme 101
The below guidance is intended to teach the basics of feminine attire and not meant to be guided towards specific definitions of feminine appearance. For example, the make-up guidance is not intended to teach contouring, or other tricks to manipulate appearance, but intended to indicate difference between foundations, setting sprays, etc. Information on how to use the basics to achieve your own look will be described in a pending document.
Choosing a Bra Size
The simplified explanation, you'll want to use a clothing tape measure, to measure just below the breast area in inches. The number is your band size. The tape measure should be even horizontally, lay flat against your skin, without being lose at all nor dig into your skin. Most bras will have 3 sets of hooks to adjust width as necessary, you're aiming for the band size to fit the middle set of hooks. For the second number do a similar measurement, instead of just below your breast, do it at the very tip of the mamilla. For those on HRT that promotes breast growth, you will probably need to go a size or 2 smaller on cup size, as it will take time for the breast to properly fill out. Victoria Secret app on the phone has a tool to do scan of your body and automagically determine your bra size.
Make-up
For the basics you'll want to get foundation, blush, lipstick, eye liner, setting spray, color corrector, contouring palette, primer.
For the tools you'll want, tweezers, blending sponges, brushes. Don't forget about the makeup wipes if you ever want to take off your makeup.
Begin with tweezing the eyebrows into a more feminine shape, put on the primer, for those with a beard shadow use a color corrector, thin layer of setting spray, foundation, follow up with contouring of the nose and cheeks, put on eyeliner, blush, lipstick, then finish off with setting spray.
